with The Tasman String Quartet

Tasman String Quartet

The Tasman Quartet will be joined by pianist Andrew Palmer Todd for an intimate evening of chamber music. The program opens with music by two titans of the classical period, including a quartet by the father of the quartet himself. The second half features the autobiographical work of Czech composer.

The Tasman String Quartet (Anna van der Zee, James Andrewes, Christiaan van der Zee, and Miranda Wilson) are one of the leading young string quartets in Colorado. Originally from New Zealand, the members of the quartet have studied individually in Germany, America and England. During 2007, The Tasman String Quartet were appointed graduate quartet-in-residence at the University of Colorado and have concretized widely through their native New Zealand. The quartet takes its name from the Dutch explorer Abel Tasman, the first European to spot New Zealand. Additionally, they have appeared on Radio New Zealand.
